Terms of use
These terms cover the small self-hosted apps operated at chiaffredo.org and named in the messaging policy. By using one, you agree to them.
What these are
Personal, non-commercial hobby projects, operated by one person for family, friends and amateur sports teams. They are free. There is no company, no subscription, no fee, and nothing is sold.
Access is by invitation
Each app serves specific private groups. You get in because someone who organises a group invited you personally. Do not share your invitation link or login with anyone else, and do not attempt to access a group you were not invited to.
Acceptable use
Be decent to the other people in your group. Do not:
- Use these apps for anything unlawful
- Upload anything harmful, or content you have no right to share
- Try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service
- Use them to send unsolicited messages to anyone
- Scrape or bulk-extract other members’ information
Access may be removed at any time, for any reason, without notice. Realistically this means: if you are causing a problem for your group, you will be removed.
Your content
What you enter stays yours. By entering it you allow it to be stored and shown to the other members of your group, which is the entire point of the app.
You are responsible for what you enter, including having the right to share it.
Text messages
Covered separately in the messaging policy. In short: you opt in
explicitly, the app’s name leads every message, STOP opts you out, and
message and data rates may apply.
Availability
These apps run on privately operated hardware in a home. There is no uptime guarantee, no support commitment, and no service level of any kind. They may be slow, unavailable, or permanently discontinued at any time, without notice.
Back up anything you would be upset to lose. Do not rely on these apps for anything time-critical or safety-related.
No warranty
These apps are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of these apps.
Because these apps are provided free of charge, total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars.
Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use an app after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
